A fourth generation Oregonian, Judy Hoiness holds two degrees in Art, a Bachelors degree and a Fifth Year from Portland State University and a Masters degree from Syracuse University. She retired as an Adjunct Art Faculty from Central Oregon Community College. Her teaching career has spanned over thirty-six years.
Working in watercolor, mixed media and acrylic she has garnered over 50 awards in international, national, and regional exhibitions.
Major highlights include a one woman exhibition, selected by the Oregon Arts Commission for the Governor's Ceremonial Office at the State Capitol in Salem, Oregon; honored with many commissions public and private; and many one, two and three person and group shows nationally and regionally.
Her paintings have been published in five books on watercolor. An article on her work can be found in WATERCOLOR Magazine, winter 2002 issue. She is a juried member of societies such as the National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America and the Northwest Watercolor Society.
